Condolence From: Dave Kaufman
Condolence: Steve Somerville is primarily responsible for Paula and I moving our family to Green Bay nearly 25 years ago. He recruited me to join his practice which included Bob Schmidt, Bill Wanamaker and Mike Sluss. His investment in me cannot be overstated. He was a partner, a mentor and a friend. He was funny, wise and outrageous at the same time. I miss him already.
Paula and I send are deep condolences to Lee, Patrick and Sarah. DKK

Condolence From: Jim Stangeland
Condolence: Dear Somerville Family:
I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I communicated with him a month or two ago and he was very happy. Steve spoke of fishing and bird photography. He was so proud of his family and rightfully so.
I met Steve as a Freshman at UW-Madison and used to drop by his dorm on my treck back to Elm Drive C. We remained friends through our college years and we spent time together when he was doing his Residency at Mt. Sinai in NYC. Steve didn't have a lot of free time but I can assure you he made the most of it.
Steve was a wonderful, sensitive, cerebral guy who loved his family, friends, and hometown. He touched many lives with his calm, caring knowledge and professionalism. The planet is a lesser place without him.
My sincere condolences,
James W. Stangeland

Condolence From: Elliott Sanders
Condolence: The world has been deprived of a fine human being entirely too soon. He had a gift of making everyone around him relaxed and at ease. As a doctor his bedside manner must have been awesome. I know he was extremely proud of his family. What an awful shock this is.

Condolence From: Dr Bruce Bressler and Kazuko
Condolence: Sadness. Steve will be in my and Kaz's memory for the good times we enjoyed sailing, discussing profound but insolvable issues, fly fishing in the Montana wilderness and collaborating on neurologic cases. Our thoughts are with Steve's family.

Condolence From: Dr. Bob Schmidt
Condolence: Steve had been a casual acquaintence when we discovered our mutual interest in returning to Green Bay to practice neurology. With the generous help of Jack we established our office in the Medical Arts Building and began our group as Medical Neurologists, LTD in 1975.
It was a pleasure to work with Steve whose exceptional organizational skills and knowledge of neurology were balanced by his wide interests and talents outside of the medical field. For 17 years we shared a "spot" reading brain and spine MRI studies, a never boring second career.
To Lee, Patrick, Sara, Jack and Joel and other family- many of us share some of the sorrow you feel in the loss of Steve, our good friend.
