Obituary for Maxine Idola Nelsen (Dixon)

Maxine Idola  Nelsen (Dixon)
Maxine I. Nelsen, age 93, of Denmark, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 after a short illness. The daughter of the late John and Arbella (LaFond) Dixon was born September 12, 1923 in Illinois. She married LeRoy Nelsen, Sr. on January 17, 1946 in Green Bay, and he preceded her in death in 1999. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, cards and cats, as well as spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children: Judy Jurczykowski, Richard (Christine) Sobieck, Mary Sobieck, Linda (Gene) Dahlke, LeRoy (Sandy) Nelsen. Jr., Terry (Ginny) Nelsen, Doreen (Marty) Brezinski and Carla (special friend Bill Denruyter) Krueger; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, LeRoy, Sr, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay (Wayne) Calewarts, grandchildren: Nathan Tilot, Andrea Thurston, Ryan Treml, Derick Treml, Adam Jurczykowski and Terry Jurczykowski; as well as two son-in-laws: Tom Jurczykowski and Denis Sears, and her first husband, Clarence Sobieck.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home-Denmark Chapel, 536 County Road R, Denmark, on Monday, March 13, from 4-7pm. A funeral service will follow at 7:00pm with Sr. Gerri Krautkramer officiating. Burial in West Danish Cemetery.
Our family would like to extend our thanks to the caregivers on the 4th floor at Bellin Hospital, as well as Unity Hospice.
