Obituary for Ortwin Gustav "Ort" Duescher

Ortwin Gustav "Ort" Duescher
Ortwin G. “Ort” Duescher, age 88, died peacefully after many years of heart disease on Friday, March 31, 2017 with his loving wife, Jan, at his side. Born on November 16, 1928, he was the son of the late Gustave and Myra (Bruemmer) Duescher. He married Janice “Jan” Kadletz on May 29, 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilsen. Ort worked for Broadway Garage for 41 years, retiring as truck service manager. He and Jan were charter members of Resurrection Parish in Allouez and in his spare time enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and boating on his boat (the O’Jan) on which he transformed the engine from gas to diesel among many other projects.
Survivors include his wife, Jan, sisters-in-law: Marion Duescher and Becky Duescher; nieces and nephews: Laurel Castro, Brian Duescher, Michael Duescher, Megan Blahnik, Marissa Worley, Connie Chervenka, Karen Curtis, Larry Kadletz, Colleen Savage, Kevin Kadletz and Collette Rein.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Gustav and Donald; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Matt and Agnes Kadletz; brother and sister-in-law: Melvin and Verna Kadletz.
Family and friends may visit at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, on Wednesday, April 5, from 9:30 am until 11:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am Wednesday with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting with arrangements.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of Angel’s Touch and Heartland Hospice, as well as to Dr. Richard Timmons, Dr. Fred Walbrun, and to Bishop Bob Morneau and Sheila DeLuca for their loving care and support.
