Obituary for Marjorie Ann Van Drisse (Gallagher)

Marjorie Ann  Van Drisse (Gallagher)
Marjorie A. Van Drisse, of Allouez, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on July 27, 2017. The daughter of the late John and Gretchen (Arent) Gallagher was born July 6, 1938 in Shawano. She attended St. Marys College of Notre Dame and graduated from Barat College in Lake Forest in 1961. On July 22, 1961, she married Roger T. Van Drisse at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano, and they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Marjorie was a member of Oneida Golf and Riding for over 40 years, and was active with the Service League of Green Bay for about 10 years, and participated for over 25 years. She enjoyed winter vacations with her friends on Marco Island for 40 years, and her wine therapy group at 4pm. In the summertime, she enjoyed spending time in Door County and especially treasured time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Roger; son: Stephen (Jamie) and her grandchildren: Connor, Hannah, Morgan and Lauren; sisters-in-law: Peggy Gallagher of Shawano and Carole Burgesse of North Carolina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Noreen (Bill) Woodward and brother John Gallagher; sisters-in-law: Joanne (Tom) Lynn, Marilyn Burnette, Sandra Sinclair.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Monday, July 31, from 4-7pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, from 9:30am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Red Cross of Northeastern Wisconsin and the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation.
Our family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Unity Hospice nurses and her special caregivers: Barbara, Emily and Dottie.
